Taroko Gorge: 1 Live Camera — marble canyon, Taiwan
One 360-degree camera at the mouth of Taiwan's marble gorge, where the Liwu River has cut a canyon straight down through the rock.
What you can see
Taroko is a gorge on the east coast of Taiwan where the Liwu River has cut down through marble. The walls are pale grey and close together, which is why the place is known at all.
This camera stands at the visitor centre at the mouth of the gorge, not inside it, and it is a 360-degree panorama. So what you get is the entrance and the mountains behind it rather than the narrowest part of the canyon.
One thing to know before you click: on 2026-09-04 the official page for this camera showed a maintenance notice. The area has been repeatedly closed by earthquakes and typhoons. We keep the link because the operator has not withdrawn it, but the stream may not be running.
This is the only camera we have inside Taroko, so there is no second angle to fall back on.

When to watch
The operator does not publish a viewing season, and we do not invent one here.
Taiwan is only one hour behind Japan, and there is no daylight saving. Noon in Taiwan is 13:00 in Japan.
A gorge is dark early: the walls cut off the sun long before sunset. For a canyon camera, the middle of the day is worth more than the golden hour. Japan time 12:00 to 15:00 is the window where the light reaches the bottom.
