Changhua: 2 Live Cameras — daylilies and the plain
Two cameras on the western plain. A hillside covered in orange daylilies, and a west-facing lookout where sunset runs into the city lights.
What you can see
Both cameras stand on a low hill facing west, over the plain of western Taiwan.
Hushanyan is a hillside planted with orange daylilies. The flower is called jinzhenhua in Chinese and is eaten as well as looked at. The description gives the peak as late summer into early autumn.
Bagua Mountain looks out over the city of Changhua from the low ridge behind it. Facing west, it gets the sunset and the night view one after the other.
These two share something rare among the Taiwanese cameras here: they are not looking at mountains or sea but at a plain where people live. Where the Alishan and Shei-Pa cameras are at the mercy of cloud and fog, these sit low enough to be clear on most days.

When to watch
The operator does not publish a viewing season, and we do not invent one here. The camera description does say that the daylilies peak from late summer into early autumn. Which days are peak in a given year is not decided here.
Taiwan is only one hour behind Japan, and there is no daylight saving. 18:00 in Taiwan is 19:00 in Japan; 20:00 in Taiwan is 21:00 in Japan.
Bagua Mountain faces west, so you can watch sunset turn into night view without moving. Open it after dinner in East Asia and you arrive in the middle of that change. Taiwan is further south than Japan, so even in winter the sun does not set especially early.
