The Tenjin River System: 3 Live Cameras in Japan
The Tenjin River crosses the Kurayoshi plain to the Sea of Japan. One camera on the main stem and one each on the Ogamo and Kokufu tributaries.
What you can see
All three are fixed on one spot. The layout on this system is one camera on the main stem, one each on the Ogamo and the Kokufu.
The Tenjin River office looks at the main stem, which crosses the Kurayoshi plain and empties into the Sea of Japan. Of these three, only this one has no sample picture yet.
Kawaramachi on the Ogamo is a water-level station on a tributary that joins the Tenjin. It drains a smaller area than the main stem, so it reacts to rain sooner.
Fukumitsu on the Kokufu is a water-level station on the other tributary of the system.

A water-level station on the Ko River, a tributary in the Tenjin system. The ministry puts one camera on the main stem and one on each of these two tributaries.
When to watch
Heavy rain is the time. The Ogamo and the Kokufu move first and the main stem follows: the difference in drainage area becomes a difference in time. Decide about evacuation from your local authority. The cameras here are for seeing how things look.
The worse the day, the darker the picture, and raindrops blur the lens. Do not expect much of the image.
On a calm day the two tributary cameras are the better watch — narrower channels, closer to the water, so the current itself is easier to see. The operator publishes no best season, and we do not set one here.
If it isn't showing
The source is the Chugoku Regional Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. These are test feeds and can stop without notice. How to tell why a screen is blank is in What is happening when a live camera shows nothing.
All three are in Tottori.
The other rivers in the same prefecture are The Sendai River and The Hino River. This is the only one of the three with main stem and tributaries side by side.
