East Aleutian Volcanoes: 4 Live Cameras — cinder cones
Four island volcanoes at the east end of the chain. The highest peak in the Aleutians, three sulphur-rimmed craters, and a camera facing into a caldera.
What you can see
The four sit on the eastern side of the Aleutian chain, each on a different island. One camera, one island is the easiest way to place them.
Shishaldin is the highest peak in the Aleutians at 2,857 m. It is an almost perfectly symmetrical cone, and steam usually rises from the small summit crater. "Usually" matters here: a day without steam is the rarer sight.
Akutan is an island volcano where a cinder cone over 200 m high is growing inside the caldera. On top of that cone sit three small sulphur-rimmed craters. Nobody can walk up to them, so being able to count all three on screen is what this camera is worth.
Makushin is an 1,800 m volcano on the same island as Dutch Harbor, one of America's biggest fishing ports. Its summit is covered by a 40 km² icefield. Human settlement and an icefield on one island sets it apart from the other three.
At Okmok, the camera sits on the rim of a 10 km caldera and faces inward. Young cinder cones and lava flows are scattered across the caldera floor. This one looks into a volcano rather than at one.
The reason to keep them together: they show four different parts of a volcano - the whole mountain, the top of a cinder cone, an icefield, and the inside of a caldera.

When to watch
The operator publishes no viewing season, and we will not invent one here. The highest-peak status, the usual steam, the three craters, the icefield area and the inward-facing view all come from the camera descriptions.
These four islands run on Alaska time: 17 hours behind Japan on daylight time, 18 hours behind on standard time. Calculated: 03:00 Japan time on daylight time, or 04:00 on standard time, is 10:00 locally (checked 2026-09-07). The western Aleutians are another hour behind, so one chain spans two zones.
