Taiping Bridge & Lijia: 2 Live Cameras — Alishan valleys
Two cameras over deep valleys. A 280-metre suspension bridge on a ridge at 1,000 metres, and a Tsou settlement known for having no town light at all.
What you can see
These two look at the same Alishan valleys for opposite reasons.
Taiping Suspension Bridge is 280 metres long, strung across a valley. From a ridge at 1,000 metres it looks out over the Chianan plain and the cloud sea. The bridge itself is in the frame, so you can measure the depth of the cloud against a known length.
Lijia is a deep valley with Tsou settlements scattered through it. There is no town light nearby, and the place is known for how dark its sky is.
That is why the two are on one page. Taiping Bridge is a daytime camera about cloud; Lijia's selling point is the darkness itself. We do not promise that stars will show. Whether a live camera's sensor records them depends on the model and its settings.

Tsou villages scattered through a deep valley. There are no town lights nearby, and the area is known for how dark its night sky is.
When to watch
The operator does not publish a viewing season, and we do not invent one here. That Lijia is known for a dark sky comes from the camera description; moon phase and weather change day by day, so no dates are set here.
Taiwan is only one hour behind Japan, and there is no daylight saving. Noon in Taiwan is 13:00 in Japan; 22:00 in Taiwan is 23:00 in Japan.
For a dark-sky camera that is unusually convenient. When it is night where you are in East Asia, it is night at Lijia too - the time difference never turns your evening into someone else's noon.
