Taiwan's Waterfalls: 3 Live Cameras — Manyueyuan, Neidong
Three cameras on mountain streams. A maple valley south of Taipei, a forest of stacked waterfalls, and a river valley with a suspension bridge over it.
What you can see
All three are forest parks built around running water.
Manyueyuan is a valley in the mountains south of Taipei with a waterfall at the head. The maples colour in autumn, which is unusual enough at this latitude to be the reason people go.
Neidong is a forest of waterfalls stacked one above another along a single stream. It is close to Taipei and known for being loud - the sound is the point, though a camera cannot give you that.
Basianshan is a river valley in central Taiwan with a suspension bridge over it. The bridge gives the picture a scale you can read.
A waterfall camera has one property worth knowing: it tells you how much rain fell upstream. A thin white line and a wide white sheet are the same camera on different weeks.

A gorge centred on the three-tiered Xinxian waterfall. It carries a lot of water, and damp air sits in the valley all day.
When to watch
The operator does not publish a viewing season, and we do not invent one here. The camera description does say that the maples at Manyueyuan colour in autumn. Which week that falls in is not something this page decides.
Taiwan is only one hour behind Japan, and there is no daylight saving. Noon in Taiwan is 13:00 in Japan.
Valleys go dark early because the walls block the sun. Japan time late morning to early afternoon is when the light reaches the water. After heavy rain the falls are at their widest, but the air is often full of spray and haze.
