Shei-Pa, Taiwan: 4 Live Cameras — the Holy Ridge
Four cameras in the high mountains of central Taiwan. A visitor centre, a cloud-forest lookout, a valley of pear orchards and a ridge station facing the peaks.
What you can see
Shei-Pa National Park covers the mountains between Xueshan and Dabajianshan, the line Taiwanese climbers call the Holy Ridge.
Wenshui is the visitor centre at the foot, the lowest and usually the clearest of the four. Guanwu sits in cloud forest and is named for exactly that - the cloud is the thing you are meant to see.
Wuling looks down a valley of pear and peach orchards with a river through it. The valley fills with cherry blossom in spring. Xuejian is a ridge station facing the peaks.
These four carry no sample image on this site, on purpose. The park is a Taiwanese government site and its open-data declaration would allow it, but the footer of its own website says 本網站圖文資料未經授權請勿使用 - do not use the text or images of this site without permission. The trailhead on a ridge at around 2,000 m. Its name means watching fog, and true to it, clouds often drift past below.

A valley along the Qijiawan Creek. The stream is one of the last homes of the endangered Formosan landlocked salmon, and cherry blossom fills the valley in spring.

A lookout facing the high ridge known as the Holy Ridgeline. On clear days the snow-covered crest stands out sharply.
When to watch
The operator does not publish a viewing season, and we do not invent one here. The camera description does say that the Wuling valley fills with cherry blossom in spring. Which week that falls in is not something this page decides.
Taiwan is only one hour behind Japan, and there is no daylight saving. Noon in Taiwan is 13:00 in Japan.
These are high mountains, so cloud decides the picture more than the season does. Guanwu is in cloud forest and is white on many days; Wenshui is the lowest and the safest bet. If everything is white, come back a few hours later rather than a few months later.
