The Naka River: 4 Live Cameras in Japan — below the dam
The Naka river in Tokushima on four cameras, from below the Nagayasuguchi dam to the bridge near the mouth. A rise arrives from upstream down.
What you can see
All four are fixed on one place. They are not touring feeds, so there is no waiting. The order here is upstream to downstream.
Below the Nagayasuguchi dam is just downstream of the dam on the upper Naka. This is wet mountain country even for Shikoku, and the force of the flow changes at once when a release begins.
Kamotani is where the river leaves the hills for the Anan plain. Rain that fell upstream passes here, so a rise arrives from upstream down.
The Chosei bridge crosses the Kuwano, a tributary joining the Naka. Being a smaller river, it shows the rise and fall after rain clearly.
The Naka bridge crosses the river at Anan, near the mouth. This far down it is wide and the tide reaches it: the level moves through the day with no rain at all.

Just below Nagayasuguchi Dam on the upper Nakagawa. This is some of the wettest country in Shikoku, and the current changes abruptly once a release begins.

Where the Nakagawa leaves the hills and comes out onto the Anan plain. Rain falling upstream passes through here, so a rise arrives in order from above.

A bridge over the Kuwanogawa, a tributary of the Nakagawa. Being the smaller river, it shows the rise and fall after rain far more plainly.

A bridge over the Nakagawa near its mouth, in the city of Anan. By here the channel is wide and the tide reaches it.
When to watch
The best use is heavy rain. Open them in order from below the dam and you see the water reach Kamotani and then the Naka bridge. The mountains upstream are wet even for Shikoku, so the rise is large.
The Chosei bridge on the tributary falls outside that order. It rises on rain over the Kuwano alone, so it does not match the main river. The main channel can be quiet while the Chosei bridge runs muddy.
The rougher the day, the darker the picture, and rain blurs the lens. Make evacuation decisions from your local authority. These cameras are for seeing how things look.
On a calm day take the Naka bridge. The tide reaches this far, so the height of the water differs between morning and evening of the same day. The operators publish no best season, so we do not set one here either.

All four are in Tokushima. The Nagayasuguchi dam is in Naka; the other three are in Anan.
