Two cameras from explore.org on the same coral wall off Útila — one underwater at 8m, one on the wall's lip. Central America's largest reef begins just beyond.
What you can see
Both are explore.org live streams, and they make a pair looking at the same coral wall from two angles. Útila is the smallest of the Bay Islands, and past the white sand and turquoise water the largest reef in Central America begins.
The Útila coral camera (underwater) is set about 120m offshore at a depth of 8m. That puts it on the lip of a steep coral wall that drops a further 36m. Wrasse, sergeant majors and small shoals of trumpetfish pass through. It streams 07:00 to 22:00 local.
The Útila reef camera takes the edge of the same wall at a depth of 9m. Eagle rays, sharks and turtles come by. It streams 06:00 to 18:00 local, which means only the underwater one keeps going into the night.
The provider does not permit reproduction of its images, so this site carries no sample image for either.

The lip of the same wall at 9 metres, where eagle rays, sharks and turtles sometimes go by. Utila is the smallest of the Bay Islands, with white sand and turquoise water and the largest reef in Central America right off the beach. From 06:00 to 18:00 local time.
When to watch
Fifteen hours behind Japan, and no daylight saving. 22:00 in Japan is 07:00 in Honduras.
The two run on different hours. The underwater camera streams 07:00 to 22:00 local — 22:00 to 13:00 the following day in Japan. The wall-edge camera streams 06:00 to 18:00 local — 21:00 to 09:00 the following morning in Japan. Open them in the Japanese afternoon and both are off.
These are underwater cameras, so what matters is not sunshine but how clear the water is. After a choppy day or heavy rain it silts up and you cannot see past the wall. The provider gives no seasonal guidance, so neither does this site.
At 8m and 9m these are shallow, so while it is midday there the light reaches down and the colour comes through. The small hours to the morning, Japan time, is when they look their brightest.
