The Takahashi River System: 3 Live Cameras in Japan
The intake weir at Sakazu that divides the irrigation water of the Kurashiki plain, and two cameras on the Oda River that flooded Mabi in 2018.
What you can see
All three are fixed on one spot: one on the main stem, two on the Oda River tributary.
Sakazu is the intake weir that dams the Takahashi. The water drawn off here becomes the irrigation supply of the Kurashiki plain.
The upper weir on the Oda is on the tributary that joins the Takahashi. Mabi, downstream, went under water in the rains of 2018, and work to move the junction followed.
The lower Oda camera is some three kilometres below the weir, closer to where the tributary meets the main stem.
Because the two Oda cameras are only three kilometres apart, they show the same tributary above and below. The stretch where the junction was moved lies between them.

When to watch
Heavy rain is when these matter. Open the two Oda cameras together and you see how the tributary changes as it approaches the junction. Decide about evacuation from your local authority. The cameras here are for seeing how things look.
The worse the day, the darker the picture, and raindrops blur the lens. Do not expect much of the image.
On a calm day Sakazu is the one to watch. It is a weir that divides the water, so the surface stands at clearly different heights above and below it. The operator publishes no best season, and we do not set one here.
If it isn't showing
The source is the Chugoku Regional Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. These are test feeds and can stop without notice. How to tell why a screen is blank is in What is happening when a live camera shows nothing.
