What you see is Carniolan honey bees going back and forth: home with pollen on their legs, then out again, all day long. The colour of the pollen on their hind legs is a fair clue to what is flowering that day.

Unlike most cameras on this site, there is almost no waiting. Something is moving the moment you open it. This is not a camera where you come for a creature and nothing appears.

When to watch

The provider gives no season. Bees largely stop going out in cold weather, but we are not going to set a season here.

Germany is 7 hours behind Japan (during daylight saving). Local 06:00 is 13:00 in Japan, local noon is 19:00, and local 18:00 is 01:00. So the local daylight hours run from Japanese afternoon to late evening. Outside daylight saving the gap is 8 hours, an hour later.

Bees fly while it is warm and light, so the Japanese evening and early night land on the local midday, when the traffic at the entrance is heaviest.
