Two cameras in Botswana on Africa's longest overland migration: the Kalahari salt pan where the herds arrive, and a pumped waterhole along the way.
What you can see
Both cameras follow Botswana's zebra migration. It is the longest overland migration in Africa: several thousand zebras walk more than 500 km from the Okavango Delta every year.
The Kalahari salt pan (Makgadikgadi) is where that walk ends — a salt pan in the Kalahari desert that the herds reach at the end of the journey.
Kamelthorn is a waterhole pumped by hand so that the animals which could not join the migration can get through the dry season. The migration itself and the hippos, crocodiles and elephants that stay behind share the same frame.
One is the destination and one is a stop along the way, so opening them together shows both where the herds are heading and where the animals that stayed are.

Kalahari salt pan (Makgadikgadi)

The Makgadikgadi pans in the Kalahari are where Botswana's zebra migration ends. It is the longest land migration in Africa: each year thousands walk more than 500 kilometres from the Okavango Delta. The operator gives November to April as the season.
When to watch
The provider gives a season for the salt pan: November to April, when the zebras arrive. For the Kamelthorn waterhole no season is given.
Botswana is 7 hours behind Japan, with no daylight saving. Local 06:00 is 13:00 in Japan, local noon is 19:00, and local 18:00 is 01:00. So the local daylight hours run from Japanese afternoon to late evening — an easy camera to watch without staying up.
It is the southern hemisphere, so the seasons are reversed. November to April is local summer into autumn.
